With KTB's distinct awards programs, there are many opportunities to recognize the efforts of individuals, schools, businesses, and communities that work to keep the Lone Star State's environment clean.


Keep Texas Beautiful Awards

The Keep Texas Beautiful Awards recognize the efforts of those making efforts to enhance their community and protect the Lone Star State. We currently provide two different award categories for Individuals and Organizations as well as Youth and Educators. All award winners will be recognized at the annual Keep Texas Beautiful Conference held June 18-20, 2019 in Rockwall, Texas. Conference details will be provided to the winners when available. The awards luncheon will be held on Wednesday, June 19 from 12:30-1 p.m. Registration details will be provided when available.

Nominations for the 2019 Keep Texas Beautiful Awards recognize the efforts made by youth and educators working to improve and beautify their communities. First place winnes in each category will be selected and recognized at the annual KTB Conference, receiving a cash prize and award.


KTB Awards for Youth/Educators will open 3/5/19 at 8a.m and are due 4/2/19 by 5p.m. There is an entree of $15/entry.

The Keep Texas Beautiful Awards recognize individuals and organizations who have committed to enhancing their community and protecting the Lone Star State. This category identifies individuals, businesses, media outlets and government agencies who have made an impact in their community and helped further our vision to make Texas the cleanest, most beautiful state in the nation.

Governor's Community Achievement Awards (GCAA)

The GCAA program is one of the most prestigious annual environmental awards in Texas. This year, ten winning communities will share $2 million in landscape awards from the Texas Department of Transportation for their outstanding overall efforts to keep their communities beautiful. 

The Awards recognize achievement in seven areas:

  • Community Leadership and Coordination
  • Public Awareness
  • Education
  • Beautification and Community Improvement
  • Litter Prevention and Cleanup
  • Solid Waste Management
  • Litter Law and Illegal Dumping Enforcement
