KTB Awards for Youth/Educator will open on March 5, 2019 and close April 2, 2019 at 5pm CST.

Nominations for the 2019 Keep Texas Beautiful Awards recognize the efforts made by youth and educators working to improve and beautify their communities.  First-place winners in each category will be selected and recognized at the annual KTB Conference, receiving a cash prize and award. One winner per category will be selected and recognized at the annual KTB Conference.

Ruthe Jackson Awards

Recognizing the efforts and leadership of youth (as individuals and their collective efforts as a group or team) and youth-oriented organizations to beautify the community and create cleaner, greener campuses, parks, and neighborhoods. 

  • Youth Individual is defined as a student, scout, youth advisory board member, etc.

  • Youth Organization is defined as a scout group, student-led organization, youth advisory board, etc.

Sadie Ray Graff Awards

Recognizing the efforts of educators and educational institutions that provide instruction/programming to Pre K-college students to encourage youth involvement and promote the KTB mission through environmental education.

  • Educator is defined as a formal or informal instructor, school staff, volunteer, etc.

  • Educational Institution is defined as a school, non-profit providing educational programming, school district, off-campus club, etc.

The Keep Texas Beautiful Awards recognize Individuals and Organizations who have committed to enhancing their community and protecting the Lone Star State. This category identifies individuals, businesses, media outlets and government agencies who have made an impact in their community and helped further our vision to make Texas the cleanest, most beautiful state in the nation.

KTB LEADERSHIP AWARD

The most prestigious award Keep Texas beautiful presents, this once in a lifetime distinction is awarded to an individual who has provided outstanding leadership in improving and enhancing the environment of their community, the state of Texas and beyond.

O.P. SCHANBEL SENIOR CITIZEN AWARD

Recognizes senior citizens (age 65+) who demonstrate positive, dynamic and selfless public-spirited leadership in enhancing their local community environment during their lifetime. 

ED DAVIS LITTER LAW ENFORCEMENT AWARD

Once in a lifetime award recognizing a law enforcement professional who has gone above and beyond in their approaches to enforcement of environmental laws and regulations. 

VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR

Recognizes individuals who support the mission of KTB through extraordinary efforts and contribute to the betterment of their community.

CIVIC ORGANIZATION AWARDS

Recognizes contributions by civic organizations supporting the KTB mission through projects or programs.

EBBY HALLIDAY AND MAURICE ACERS BUSINESS/INDUSTRY AWARD

Recognizes a business with sound environmental principles supporting the Keep Texas Beautiful mission, including locally owned, state, or national businesses.

MEDIA AWARD

Recognizes the public awareness and education efforts of print and/or electronic media in supporting environmental issues.

GOVERNMENT AWARDS

Recognizes outstanding contributions to the Texas environment made by city government departments, divisions or agencies.
